Frequently Asked Questions

Do you need volunteers?
Volunteers are the foundation of our organization. Our chapter's small professional staff counts on the more than 200 volunteers who help us to achieve our mission. In addition, a volunteer Board of Directors governs the Foundation. We offer a wide variety of volunteer opportunities involving granting wishes and fundraising. Please call our office at (603) 623-WISH (9474) for specific information.

How do I apply?
To become a volunteer, please fill out the online application (MS Word doc, 43.5KB) and mail a copy to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Hampshire. You may also contact the Foundation at (603) 623-WISH or via email at jason.tremblay@newhampshire.wish.org.

How long is the application process?
Volunteer trainings are held 2-3 times a year. Give the office a call or check our calendar listing to find out when the next training is scheduled.

What kind of commitment is there?
Commitment levels vary, depending on your interest and availability. Because of our large volunteer base, we are able to accommodate most schedules. You may choose to become heavily involved or you may sign up for special events one at a time.

All volunteers at the Make-A-Wish Foundation are charged with the amazing, fragile and beautiful process of making children's dreams come true. It's an important and precious job. We do expect a high level of commitment and professionalism from our volunteers. But the rewards are tremendous!

Are volunteers very involved with the children?
Direct involvement with children and families varies. Some of our volunteers enjoy that contact and the relationships they develop, others prefer to take more of a behind-the-scenes role. Of all our volunteer positions, wish granting offers the highest level of involvement.
