Giving Volunteering Referring a Child Wishing
Kids for Wish Kids®

I was at one of our local hospitals and met so many young children facing very grown up battles. I wanted to help. I thought, what would be better than inspiring young people to help other kids. The Make-A-Wish Foundation came to mind.

Lisa Stimson, Kids For Wish Kids® volunteer

Imagine being a parent, and having to tell your young child the news that one of their classmates and close friends has been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. You can comfort and you can do your best to explain, but your child will likely feel powerless in the face of a frightening reality.

But your child is not powerless-he or she can help.

Children have a remarkable capacity for love, compassion and an energy level that is unparalleled. Many children across our State have stepped up to help the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of New Hampshire grant the wishes of children who face life-threatening medical conditions.

Kids For Wish Kids® is a popular program because it involves projects that are conceived, managed, and carried out by children for children. Teachers and parents often serve as advisors, but ownership of the project belongs to the kids. This program helps to increase awareness of the Make-A-Wish Foundation's mission and provides a positive way for children to get involved in helping to grant wishes of children they may know, or may not know, who face life-threatening illnesses.

The children who participate in Kids For Wish Kids® program are some of our most energetic and most important volunteers. We are proud of the many schools and young people across the State who participate in this program. Whether you are representing a school or student group, or would like to enroll individually, please call the office at (603) 623-Wish (9474), or email your request to receive a Kids For Wish Kids® Packet to Donna.parker@newhampshire.wish.org or visit our Kids For Wish Kids form (MS Word doc, 74.0KB). Be sure to provide us with the address to which we should send the packet, along with the name of the person to whose attention it should be addressed.

Once you receive your packet, please review the information and define your group's activities and/or fundraising goals. Fill in the necessary information and contract and return the information back to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of New Hampshire.

If everything is in order, you will receive a signed contract confirming your partnership with the Foundation. If we have questions, we may call you to discuss your project and help address any issues to make it a better match for the Foundation's efforts.
